Students worldwide can apply for George Brown College Scholarships in Canada. George Brown College provides a range of awards, scholarships, and bursaries for international students.

The scholarships and opportunities are open to both full-time and part-time GBC students. The George Brown College Awards program provides students with financial aid so they can succeed in their academic efforts.

Assist with Scholarships for International Students in Two-year Programs

Assist on Global Service in Canada Ltd. (Kimokran 16 Toronto Inc.) has donated funds for the establishment of the Assist on Scholarship for International Students in Two-year Programs. This award is available to all registered international students at George Brown College in any year of study for all programs in this category

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  1. The student must maintain a 3.0 Min GPA or higher
  2. The student must be actively involved in the community (college and/or external)

International Centre Student Bursary

This award is available to all registered international students at George Brown College in any year of study for all programs

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  1. The student must display financial need
  2. The student must be actively involved in the community (college and/or external)

International Student Leadership Award

The award is available to any international student graduating from their program.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  1. Student must be an international student
  2. Minimum GPA of 3.5
  3. The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)

International Student ESL Scholarship

International Student ESL Scholarship is awarded to a student in the ESL Program.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  1. Student must be an international student
  2. Student must be enrolled in the 3rd module.
  3. The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)

International Student Scholarship

International Centre Student Scholarship is available to full-time international students in any program.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  1. Student must be an international student
  2. Student must display financial need
  3. Minimum GPA of 2.5
  4. Student must overcome obstacles

Kimokran (Toronto) Scholarship for International Students

Kimokran 16 Toronto Inc. has donated funds for the establishment of the Kimokran (Toronto) Scholarship for International Students. This award is available to all registered international students at George Brown College who are in their 2nd Year or higher for all programs in this category

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  1. The student must maintain a 3.0 Min GPA or higher
  2. Student must be a registered domestic student
  3. The student must be actively involved in the community (college and/or external)

Post-Secondary Scholarship for International Students – Certificate

The award is available to students in the Certificate, Post-grad program in any year of study.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  1. Student must be an international student
  2. Minimum GPA of 3.5
  3. The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)

Post-Secondary Scholarship for International Students – Diploma/Degree

Academic Area has donated funds for the establishment of the Post-Secondary Scholarship for International Students. The award is available to students in the Diploma or Degree program in their Second, Third, or Fourth year of study, in an approved international work/study experience.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  1. Student must be an international student
  2. Minimum GPA of 3.5
  3. The student must be actively involved in the Community (college and/or external)

Scotiabank and the Scotiabank Bursaries

The Scotiabank and the Scotiabank Bursaries have graciously provided $100,000 (100 bursaries at $1,000 each) for International students.

The following criteria must be met by the applicant:

  1. Students must be registered in a full-time program
  2. Students must demonstrate a financial need

Scotiabank International Partner Entrance Scholarships

The Scotiabank International Partner Entrance Scholarship is available to newly admitted students in their first year of study in any post-secondary (diploma, degree, or post-graduate certificate) George Brown College (GBC) program. Students from GBC’s academic partner institutions in the Caribbean, China, Central/South America and India are encouraged to apply.

Two scholarships of $5,000 will be awarded each academic year.

Qualifications

  1. be an international student (required to have a valid Canadian Study Permit)
  2. must be studying in the first year of a full-time post-secondary program
  3. possess an excellent academic record (3.0 cumulative GPA)
  4. have demonstrated leadership in activities that have made contributions to the learning environment and
  5. participated in academic activities related to the area of study or student activities (e.g. clubs, Student Associations, volunteer activities)

Woori Education Scholarship

Awarded to an international student based on academic performance and community involvement. To qualify an applicant must:

  1. be an international student, with a valid Study Permit
  2. be registered in a full-time diploma or degree program
  3. have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 in at least two full semesters of consecutive study
  4. have participated in activities that have made a contribution to other students, their Department/School and/or the College community

For the 2022-2023 Academic Year 

Winter 2023 – opens on December 12, 2022, until January 29, 2023 (11:59 pm)
Spring 2023 – opens on April 17, 2023, until May 28, 2023 (11:59 pm)

For the 2023-2024 Academic Year 

Fall 2023 – Application opens on August 22, 2023, and closes on October 15, 2023
Winter 2023 – Application opens on December 12, 2023, and closes on February 15, 2024
Spring 2023 – Application opens on April 18, 2024, and closes on June 15, 2024

STEP 1: LOGIN

  1. Login to your STU-VIEW account.
  2. Click on the Student Awards tab.
  3. Select Apply for Student Awards.
  4. You will now see the Select Aid Year and Period page.
  5. Carefully read the instructions shown at the top of the page.
  6. Click on the Continue button at the bottom of the screen.
  7. You will now see the Select an Application page.

STEP 2: COMPLETE YOUR STUDENT PROFILE

PLEASE NOTE: The student profile is where you will apply for College-Wide and Divisional awards.

STEP 3: APPLY FOR ADDITIONAL AWARDS

Scroll to select additional awards you are eligible for.

STEP 4: REVIEW YOUR APPLICATION(S)

STEP 5: CHECK THE STATUS OF YOUR APPLICATION(S)

To check the status of your application(s):

  1. Click on the Student Awards tab
  2. Select View My Student Awards
  3. Select Continue
  4. Note the status of each award
