Worth of Chevening Scholarships in UK
1. Good leaders who are great students are given this scholarship. Awards are typically given for master’s degrees that last one year.
2. The University of Westminster- Chevening Scholarships provide all or a portion of tuition fees, a living allowance, a round-trip ticket to the UK in economy class, and additional funds to cover necessary expenses.
3. Your selected course is fully funded by a scholarship from the University of Westminster. The same allowance and stipend package as a major Chevening Award will be yours as a result.
Eligibility Criteria for Chevening Scholarship
The following requirements must be met by applicants in order to be eligible for Chevening Scholarships:
1. English is a required language.
2. Eligible Countries: The scholarships are intended for nationals of nations that are eligible for the Chevening Awards. For a comprehensive list of the nations that are eligible, visit the official website.
3. After your scholarship has ended, go back to your country of citizenship for at least two years.
4. By the time you submit your application, you must have finished all requirements for an undergraduate degree that will allow you to enroll in a postgraduate program at a UK university. Depending on your course, this can be different from the upper second-class 2:1 honors degree that is normally equivalent in the UK.
5. Possess a minimum of two years’ worth of work experience (2,800 hours).
You are not eligible for a Chevening Scholarship if you:
- Hold British or dual British citizenship (unless you are a citizen of a British Overseas Territory or hold BN(O) and are applying from Hong Kong).
- Hold refugee status in a non-Chevening eligible country. Applicants who are citizens of a Chevening-eligible country and who hold refugee status in a Chevening-eligible country are eligible for a scholarship.
- Are an employee, a former employee, or relative* of an employee of Her Majesty’s Government, or have been within the last two years from the opening of Chevening applications (including British embassies/high commissions; the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy; Department for International Trade; the Ministry of Defence; and the Home Office), or a staff member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
- Employees, former employees, or relatives* of an employee of Chevening Partner organisations are eligible to apply, but if the employment took place within the last two years, you cannot receive a Chevening Partner Award from the organisation from which you work, previously worked, or are affiliated with through relatives.
- Have previously studied in the UK with funding from a UK Government-funded scholarship.

How to Apply for Chevening Scholarship
1. Chevening scholarship applications must be made through the Chevening website.
2. Prior to applying, candidates should review the website’s instructions, including the frequently asked questions.
3. All applicants should also refer to their own country’s country page on the Chevening website, which provides advice for candidates from that country, as well as a list of the program’s top subject areas.
4. In the UK, Chevening Scholarship applications are submitted through the standard Chevening application process described above.
5. Candidates only need to list Westminster as one of their top three universities on their application to be eligible for the scholarship.
